Description

To externally mount proximity probes, use one of these allmetal Proximity Probe 

Housing Assemblies:

l 21000 aluminum probe housing assembly

l 24701 stainless steel probe housing assembly

The 21000 and 24701 Proximity Probe Housing Assembliesconsist of the following parts:

l A dome cover that screws into the body of the housingl Threaded ports for 

conduit connections

l A probe sleeve of optional lengthl 0-rings

l A reverse mount proximity probel A thread seall Optiona

l conduit fittingsl An optional standoff adapter

The 21000 and 24701 Proximity Probe Housing Assemblies areavailable with Canadian 

Standards Association (CSA)approvals. They are rated explosion proof for hazardousareas.

Both housingsare certified as CSA Type 4 enclosures and arefully compliant with the American 

PetroleumInstitute's (API) 670 Standard for externallymounted proximity probe housings.

The 164818 Compact Proximity Probe Housing isalso available for applications with 

spacerestrictions. Ceramic capped probes areavailable with the 164818 housing.

Sleeve length is determined by the location inwhich the probe and housing are installed. Theprobe 

lead must be longer than the sleeve.Sleeve lengths longer than 304 mm (12 inches)require 

additional sleeve support to reduce thevibration associated with unsupported longsleeve lengths.

Bently Nevada offers a probe support and oilseal (part number 37948-01) for long sleevesthat 

must go through an inner bearinghousing. We also make custom sleevesupports.
