product description
Basic information
The IC220DEM002 is a network interface module in GE Fanus Automation's
VersaPoint family.
The network interface unit uses the DeviceNet slave protocol and has an
active life cycle state.
Data rates up to 500 kbaud.
The module supports serial communication, but does not support firmware
upgrades.
No network support or digital LCD display.
There is no digital input or output on the module.
The I/O network interface unit connects the VersaPoint I/O module to the host
PLC or computer over various networks, facilitating the inclusion of VersaPoint
I/O in PROFIBUS-DP, Ethernet or DeviceNet.
Functions and features
NIU can handle up to 63 modules in one node.
The maximum input power is 8 amps.
The nominal input voltage is 24 VDC.
The supply voltage range is 19.2-30 VDC.
The current of the local bus UL is 2 amps and the current of the local bus UA is
500 mA.
The dimensions are 1.92 inches (W) x 4.72 inches (H) x 2.82 inches (D).
The required terminal board is IC220TBK201; Contains 10 blocks.
This module is the connection between DeviceNet and VersaPoint stations.
DeviceNet NIU communicates on the DeviceNet network as a slave station in Group 2.
Tasks and characteristics
NIU's tasks include providing diagnostic information for connecting to I/ OS to
DeviceNet, electrical isolation of local I/ OS, communication power to I/O modules,
and coupling of DeviceNet and VersaPoint I/O modules.
NIU can provide a maximum of 2A logic supply current.
The maximum number of data words is 1000 bytes (input and output).
Voltage jumpers have limited current carrying capacity.
DeviceNet supports failed node recovery, automatic site configuration, polling I/O
slave station messaging, point data objects for discrete and analog inputs and outputs,
addressable hardware or software, and UCMM (peer-to-peer) communications.
