The IC697MEM735 memory module is an expansion memory module. It is manufactured by GE Fanuc Automation and classified under Series 90-70 of the GE programmable controllers., the IC697MEM735 module is available in 4 versions. The 4 different module versions feature capacities of 128 KB, 256 KB with 256 KB of non-volatile flash memory, 256 KB, and 512 KB.  The IC697MEM735 memory module serves as a CMOS memory expansion for the GE 780, 781, 782, 788, and 789 CPUs and it does not require any additional slot for installation. The IC697MEM735 module retains the memory on the CPU. This is because the IC697MEM735 module features a lithium battery that is installed to ensure that the user memory is not lost whenever there is a power disconnection. Moreover, the lithium battery is responsible for ensuring the calendar clock on the PLC or the CPU remains accurate. Whenever there is a need for changing the lithium battery, it is advisable that the new battery be inserted before the removal of the old battery.
