3500/92 is a communication gateway module developed by Bentley that provides a wide range 

of serial (RS232/RS422/RS485) and Ethernet TCP/IP communication capabilities for integrating 

all rack monitoring values and status with process control and other automation systems. In 

addition, it supports Ethernet communication with data acquisition software and 3500 rack 

configuration software. It supports protocols including the Modicon Modbus protocol (communication 

via serial port), Modbus/TCP protocol (serial Modbus variant for TCP/IP Ethernet communication), 

and the proprietary Bently Nevada protocol (communication with 3500 rack configuration and data 

acquisition packages).

In terms of data transmission, the 3500/92 utilizes a high-speed internal network to collect information 

from other modules in the rack, including time-stamped current measurements, module status, and 

current alert status. The data acquisition rate will not be greater than 1 second, depending on the 

rack design.

In addition, the 3500/92 also has the characteristics of strong environmental adaptability, high reliability, 

and easy operation. It can operate in a non-condensing environment with an operating temperature 

of -30°C to +65°C, a storage temperature of -40°C to +85°C and a humidity of 95%. At the same 

time, it also has automatic calibration and fault diagnosis functions, which can ensure its long-term 

stable operation.

3500/93

The Bentley 3500/93 is a display interface I/O module that complies with API Standard 670 standards 

and can provide local or remote visual indication of all 3500 mechanical protection system information 

stored in a rack. In addition, it supports all channel, monitor, relay module, key phase module or 

tachometer module data to be listed in the system event list.

In terms of mounting, the 3500/93 comes in four different mounting options: front mount, 19-inch EIA 

rack mount, panel mount, and standalone mount. Which installation method you choose depends on 

the needs of the user and the field environment.

In addition, the Bentley 3500/93 has the following features:

Each 3500 rack can support up to two monitors, each requiring a free slot to plug in its corresponding DIM.

When the display is not directly frame mounted, the cable between the DIM and the display can be 

connected from the front or rear I/O module of the 3500 frame.

When the cable length is greater than 100 feet, an external power supply and cable adapter are required.

Applications that use a backlit display unit require the use of an external power supply.

A separate mounting housing accommodates an external power supply/terminal board mounting kit that 

simplifies the process of installing an external power supply in a separate mounting housing or a user-supplied 

housing.
